The verdict of the case was decided mainly on the Ninth Amendment to the United States constitution, a part of the Bill of Rights. The amendment states, “the enumeration in the constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people,” in protecting a person’s right to privacy (Ninth Amendment).
