The embryo is about four days old and is a hollow ball called a blastocyst. A blastocyst contains three parts: the trophoblast, which is the outer layer of cells that surrounds the blastocyst and the blastocoel, which is the hollow cavity that holds the inner cell mass which is on the end of the blastocoel and holds about thirty stem cells.
