However, the two bums are let down day after day, and as Gogo says during Act One of the play, ?°they are bound?± to the mysterious Godot by the mere hope that they will find salvation.
Interestingly, Didi and Gogo deny that they know Godot when Pozzo asks them. In accordance with the play??s religious theme, this is equivalent to Peter's denial of Jesus...
