It uses the 8,6,8,6 syllable line format, and has rhyming words at the end of every other line. The beginning of this poem is about the introduction to death, but ignoring it. Then later, the person becomes more scared of death, and becomes very afraid. They start to run and escape, but they cannot out-run death, and eventually they get cuaght. The next part displays a pergatory-like setting in the "land of eternity." Finally, the end touches base with finally accepting death, loosing your soul, and dying. Death in this poem is directly linked as the pursuer, and is very intimidating!
