Albus Dumbledore is the elder Headmaster at Hogwarts and is the most powerful wizard in the world. He is patient and sympathetic with his students, and he has no hard feelings against Muggles. He is Harry's mentor throughout the book giving him help when It is needed. Dumbledore's odd appearance alone makes him hated by people like the Dursleys (Harry's muggle foster parents)
