The US and Royal Navy were a means of transport for a proportion of the American troops landing at Omaha. A small amount of British were also apart of the assault craft that was crewed by the Royal Navy, Us Coast guard and US navy.
The Americans, with the aid of their British allies, were coming to take on the Nazi soldiers that were situated on the beach and inland at Omaha Beach, Normandy, in France. The German defenses had been stationed by Field Marshall Erwin Rommel as the German Soldiers lay in wait for a battle that they were not sure would even come to pass...
