Mo, Meggie, and Dustfinger leave and go to Theresa's aunt Elinor's house to hide from Capricorn. Dustfinger betrays Mo and Meggie. He tells Capricorn where they are staying, and one night his men come and take Mo and a book to Capricorn's village. They thought that the book was "Inkheart," but Elinor had switched them because she wanted to read "Inkheart."
Elinor and Meggie set off to find Mo and give Capricorn the real "Inkheart" book. Capricorn want Silvertongue to read aloud to him from "Inkheart" so that Silvertongue can read a creature out of the book. Silvertongue refuses to do what Capricorn has asked of him, so he throws him, Meggie, and Elinor into the prison...
