Sex Discrimination Act 1975 and 1986 makes it unlawful to discriminate directly (to treat woman less favourably than man and including sexual harassment) or indirectly (to impose requirements or conditions which are detrimental to woman) in employment, education and training between men and women. It also includes victimisation, which ‘occurs when an employee is singled out for unfair treatment because he or she has attempted to exercise rights under the RRA, SDA or Equal Pay Act, or has helped others to enforce their rights.’ (Needham, 2004, pg. 412)
The other two acts are Race Relations Act, which makes it unlawful to discriminate against someone on the grounds of colour, race, ethnic or national origin in employment and the second act makes it unlawful for an employer to treat a disabled person less favourably than anyone else and it is called Disability Discrimination Act 1995...
