So Mrs. Bennet encourages her husband to invite the Bingleys to a party. Mr. Bennet comes over to the Bingleys house and they agree to come to the party.
At the party, Jane Bennet meets a man named Mr. Darcy who comes off to be arrogant and has a big head. When he sees Jane’s sister Elizabeth, Mr. Darcy becomes interested in Elizabeth in spite of himself. Elizabeth’s eyes and everything about her overwhelm him. Even Mrs. Bingley’s jealous criticisms of Elizabeth do nothing to lesson Mr. Darcy’s admiration for her.
Then Mr. Bingley’s affection for Jane Bennet grows. Mr. Bingley’s mother Caroline invites Jane to spend time at Netherfield where the Bingleys live...
