By lines 360d-361d, halfway through Book Two, the reader is just now seeing Socrates putting the actual question together. Now an answer needed to be formulated. Plato writes Socrates insinuating that one should see justice as a virtue of a city prior to seeing it as a virtue of a person (368c-369b), which impels him into a rather sketchy description of a few characteristics of a good city (369b-427c) such as, providing food, shelter and clothes and such. In those lines, Plato shows Socrates comparing the justice of a human to that of a city, which he almost achieves by the end of Book Four. So here, after an agonizing wait for the actual question, Plato is now attempting to answer the underlying question but is only successful in confusing the reader by the use of an unnecessary analogy...
