This would detract from the story because the story is set in many different places, with different characters at each. If told from 1st person, the author would not be able to create this effect of many different things happening at once. For example, at one point in the story, Soraya is in the desert, Kavi is captured by the Hrum, and Jiaan is with the Farsalan Army.
4. This point of view adds to the story because then many things can happen at once instead of following the actions and thoughts of a single person. The same example from question 3 could apply here.
