Many patriots were tired of been oppressed by the British rule. The colonists felt that taxation without representation was unjust, but parliament idea was that the colonists were "virtually represented” which meant that Parliament represents all British subjects and since the Colonies were still under British rule everyone who lived there was a British subject. This showed the colonists that Britain didn't seem to care about the colonists; they were just looking to benefit from them. The Colonists formed the First Continental Congress in order to discuss ways to resist British oppression. Anger fluctuated in the colonies and in Britain...
